Puppy MoHawk

I rarely do these kinds of posts....but I have to.  Katie gave the puppy a mohawk today...and he looks pretty rad:

That little dog is ridiculous.  So is my room mate.

Happy Birthday Cody

This little puppy is 1 year old today!

Do you see how he lost all his brown fur?  He is now blonde! So funny.

Fan Fridays // Puppy Baths

And now for a segment I like to call As the Puppy Bathes.  In this episode, we find Cody who is upset that he had to get a bath.  He enjoyed smelling like the lake for the past 4 days.  However his mo-mo doesn't want his stinky little tail being all stinky in her bed.

I mean look at this goob!!!!!!!!

Photo of the Day :: Puppy Swimming Lesson

Too freaking cute!

My room mate & I met up with my parents at my grandparent's house & we had a fun little get together where the two little puppies (ours & my parent's) became friends. They ran around the yard, got in the pool, ate some treats, took some naps.  It was a fun little day.

I think I may be switching

To just one blog.
Why in the heck did I need two in the first place? Who knows.
I thought I would be able to keep them both separate, but it is just becoming a hassle & I want to combine art & home & lifestyle all together.

Some of my great inspirations for the big switch are
Kaleah from Honey Bee in the City

I would always tell myself, 'well, one is for crafts/art & one is for home/lifestyle/fashion'
But the truth is, all of those are part of me & it stunk to try to separate and yet combine both.
like through twitter, facebook, etsy, etc.

I want to be one entity.  So Cross My Hooks will still stay up....but everything will now be focused on this blog.

I just think Five Sixteenths defines my style more.  I like the design I made, the aesthetic, etc.  And I want to start to blog more about me all around.  I think I will finally have time for that!

Now I can do Make it Mondays inspired by these things:

And less about 'how is this different than Cross My Hooks?'
I can just blog about me.

After all, there really are no rules to what you can and can't blog about.
And who says I can't do what I please!

Now that I am more settled down I will also be able to blog more focused & less
'oh hey, here's something I like'
I can actually take time to nurture the blog & to help it grow.
I can throw in things like pics from instagram of the puppy, food, & the bbfl as we go grocery shopping.

I also don't want to juggle 3 blogs with est. 1839 being a newbie and all.
I am so excited to get back to working on that too!
My three friends, Amy, Jenni & Megan have been rocking it out with me & we are moving right along.

In the next week or so, new color scheme for the blog will be in the works since the yellow is sorta hard to read.

so anyway, that may be the change that is happening in my life.
I will still do DIY's, I will still feature artists (because that is really important to me), I will still showcase work (mine & others), but it will be about my life.......not just crafts or decor.

What do you think? Have you ever decided to let a blog go & take a different direction?

Make It Mondays: Guest Post @ Young & Crafty!

For this week's Make It Monday I am guest posting over at Young & Crafty!

I totally love this blog & was am so happy to have this opportunity!  I am doing a decor tutorial on how to make this crazy cool magnetic memo board:

Check out the post to see exactly what its made from :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've also been messing around in Picnik (as you can tell lately) & while I've been waiting for it to load I usually do something else like start writing or check my email.  Well, today I was waiting & reading the little status updates under the status bar. One said "letting Rudolf join in".  I started laughing so hard! It just so happens that my little puppy is named Rudy & sometimes (mainly when he's in trouble) we call him Rudolf!  So in honor of this I've created, essentially, a Xmas card to send to all my blog friends:

Five Sixteenths wishes you the greatest of holidays as well!

He also stole one of the walnuts from the nut bowl on the end table at my parents' & has been carrying it around in his mouth for a week!

Happy Holidays all! I've finished up all the shopping & all that is left is my birthday on Wednesday!

Fan Fridays: Doggy Sweaters, A Style Post

My little Roo loves his little warm sweater for winter.

I crocheted it by measuring him (that probably took the longest) & trial and error.  I love little dog outfits.  Rudy, not so much

(Rudolf Rocket Howard.....my father says thats his full name...I don't really think they put that down on his papers)

I recently stumbled up on a blog Refashionology.com.  This blog is great! It is filled with tutorials & inspiration.  Look how cute these dogs look in their little clothes:

I want to make Roo a polo one! I think all the neighborhood girl dogs will be falling in love.  Go check out the post!

I've been super doooooper busy this week.  I am making folders for a conference, working on my senior project, & over all trying to get school, homework, & sleep figured out let alone blogging! But I think I am doing alright.
