Free Sticker Friday // Oh Sh*t Poop Emoji Stickers

Why am I ringing in the new year with the poop emoji?  Well really I'm ushering 2016 out with the poop emoji.  This year has been one hell of a year and while it may go down as the year that shall not be named, we're another year older and hopefully we've learned something new.  But really, 2016 can GTFO!  We're through!!
this post contains affiliate links, please read my full disclosure here.

I had plans on trying a new way of memory planning for 2017...but I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with the vertical ECLP.  for the beginning of the year I've put it in the Breathe Prima Marketing planner.  I like this planner because it has rose gold hardware plus an adjustable strap that will you let you stuff your planner full!  You can find a great range of the planners & accessories on the Scrabook.com website here.  I've also found some of the line on Blitsy as well!

This download includes a PNG file to cut with your Cricut Explore (size to 5.5 inches wide in Design Space), a Silhouette Studio file to cut with your Silhouette, and a PDF file to cut by hand (or I hear good things about this tool).  As always please do not share this file with anyone.  Do not claim this design as your own, do not print and disseminate in mass quantities, and do not sell the digital or printed item.  If you would like to link to these stickers please Pin or link to the blog post and not the file itself.  Thanks for playing nice!
I hope you enjoy these little poop guys...I also hope that you don't have too many poop days where you will need them!

Inside My Listing Journal // Free Printable Ephemera Pieces

If you watched my Listing Journal flip through & tool box video then you'll know that currently I'm obsessed with ephemera.  These little packs of die cuts and cute things can become expensive...but for the most part they are worth it!
this post contains affiliate links, please read my full disclosure here.
I've been loving these little guys to add a bit of flair and add to the story of the page I'm working on in my Listing Journal.  I haven't been sticking to one collection of ephemera, I've been loving mixing and matching the different sets I have to create a unique look.  But, gathering up a bunch of sets can get expensive (like I mentioned above!) so I decided to make some of my own...and share them with you today!
I used some images from FreePik.com, imported them into my current favorite design software, Inkscape, and created an offset around each image for easier cutting using my Cricut Explore.  I love my Cricut Explore for paper crafting and this project is perfect!

DOWNLOAD DIGITAL EPHEMERA PACK HERE

I've created a set for you to download from the link above that includes two PNG files, a PDF file and a Silhouette file.  If you have a Cricut Explore (or Cricut Explore One or Cricut Explore Air) one of the PNG files has a 'key' with all the images included in the ephemera pack so you can store your ephemera together and still know whats in the little pack.  I store mine in those little plastic zipper bags you can find in the jewelry section of the craft store and these little 'keys' (often found on the back of the packaging of commercial ephemera packs) help me know exactly what is in the little baggy.  To cut with your Cricut Explore, simply size the width to 5.5 inches.  To cut with your Silhouette open the Studio file and adjust your cut settings to be at a depth for cutting card stock.
Remember, all printable files on the blog are for personal use only.  You many not sell the final product or the design.  You may not print and distribute these in mass.  If you would like to share this file with others, please link or pin this post and not the digital files.  As always, thanks for playing nice.
I used some of this ephemera pack in my lists about my favorite movies and my favorite stories.  I think this pack goes together well and I especially love the vintage radios.  (That is a nod to Zach who loves vintage radios - we have approximately a zillion of them in our home!)

I'll be sharing my lists over the next few days (when I remember) over on my Instagram.  So go follow me there.

Have you started a listing project?  What are some of your favorite ephemera packs?

Free Planner Stickers // Happy Unicorn Stickers

In my memory planner I use a lot of decorative stickers.  In face, a lot is an understatement.  My favorite thing to do is use a specific type of sticker to mark down a specific type of event.  For example, the stickers I'm going to share with you today are stickers I use when I've had a particularly crazy or stressful day at work.  I  use these because they are hilariously happy unicorns with a creepy stare.
Some of these stickers have some bad words, but the celebrate the fact that I made it through the day....and didn't murder anyone.
One of my favorite times I had to use this sticker was when someone in the office put soap in the Keurig.  Why did someone do that?  No idea...but I spent a good chunk of time brewing up mini bubble baths in Styrofoam cups to clean it out.  Wonderful morning at work!

DOWNLOAD HAPPY UNICORNS

So if you'd like to down load these hilarious stickers, click the link above.  There is both a PDF and a Silhouette file.  As always, these printables (and all printables on the blog) are for personal use only.  Do not sell the design or printed sticker set, do not claim this as your own, and do not print and distribute in mass quantities.  If you would like to share these with friends or pin to Pinterest, please pin or share this blog post.  I'd appreciate it.  Find more printables here!

Free Printable Weekly Mini Kit Planner Stickers - Bright Summer

I am so, so, so happy warm weather is finally here!  You know what I hate though?  Yard work.  It's not my jam, so everyone just has to deal with the fact that my flower beds are pitiful.....it seems no matter how hard I work, its not ever done.  So, just nope.

I'd rather be crafting anyway.
(this post contains affiliate links, please see my full disclosure here.)

Today I have for you a free printable sticker kit designed for these week on one page vertical inserts in the shop.  These are the inserts I've been using lately in my planner and I have to say I really do like them.  I used to be a no-white-space planner in my week on four page vertical inserts but these week on one page really lend to some white space (at least for me).  Of course, you can use these in any style planner - just have at it!

There are  two styles of these stickers - one where the patterned full boxes have a faded white box in the middle to write on, and one that doesn't have this.  There are also two file types - a Studio file to use with your Silhouette and a PDF.  But guess what?  If you follow the steps in this video tutorial you can totally use the Print then Cut feature of your Cricut Explore to cut these as well!  Both files feature an image area of 5.5 x 8 inches - the maximum Print then Cut area that the Cricut Explore can handle (I based it off the measurements for the Chrome browser so the image would work for those you may use Design Space in Chrome - that is my browser of choice).

If you have a Silhouette, simply open the Studio files and find that the cut lines already exist.  You may have to do some fancy pants stuff with your blade depth and registration marks since all Silhouettes are different.  If you don't want to waste space, use the knife tool to chop up the image and move it (with the cut lines) around. Duplicate parts that you want, etc, to fill up the print area of the Silhouette.
If you have a Cricut Explore, simply use a PDF to JPG converter (like this one) to make the PDF into a JPG to upload to design space.  Following this tutorial, you can erase the white of the jpg and have perfect cut lines for this sheet!  Once you add the image to your canvas, be sure to size the width to 5.5 inches (the height should automatically change to 8) and hit the Go button.  It is the perfect size for the Print then Cut area of Design Space.  If you get an error that the the image is too big, be sure you've sized it properly.

If you don't have either of these machines - you seriously should consider getting one!  The Silhouette is a bit more advanced that the Cricut Explore, but they both are worth it (I have both and use both for different things!)  Check out my video tutorials here and my Cricut projects on the blog here.  But, if you still want to cut by hand - simply download the PDF and get to snipping.

The headers in this printable have been left blank so that you can customize them and print as many as you'd need.  The printable features a limited amount of each element so printing at least 2 of these will get you most of what you need - so make seven To Do headers then sevn Today headers, etc in your design program and print. This can be done in both Silhouette Studio and Cricut Explore (both programs can be used for free!)  However, if you have access to neither you can use an online PDF editor like PDFescape to overlay text.  I like this one because you can rotate the PDF to overlay the text properly.  Then save to your computer and print!  Easy peasy.

I hope you enjoy this printable, please remember that this is for Personal Use only.  Do not claim this as your own, do not give this freely to others (printed or through file sharing), do not sell this printable in any form,  do not link to the file itself please link to the blog post.  Please play nice - that is just the right thing to do.  The patterns used in this kit are from the Pixeled Paper Blog.

Let me know if you've used them, I'd love to see your layout on Instagram!  Share it with me by tagging @fivesixteenths because I'm a sucker for planner layouts!!

Unboxing my Silhouette Portrait // My 5 First Thoughts

I have had my Silhouette Portrait since October 16th, 2015.  I didn't plug it into my computer until December 4th, 2015.  When it comes to new, hard core crafty supplies - sometimes I get intimidated.  (I didn't use my Cinch until this summer even though I got it for Christmas in 2014.)  The evening of the 4th of December started off like any other weekend evening....I stare at the bundle that is the Silhouette Portrait before moving on to some other craft for the night.  This night however, was different.  I pull out all the accessories, opened the CD drive (for the first time since like 2012), and installed the Silhouette Studio software.
For the next few hours I played around.  Here are my first 5 thoughts

I am intimidated
This is the thought that came to mind each time I looked at the bundle of cords and mats and machinery under my desk.  How can a thing so small (like 1/3 the size of my Cricut Explore) be so intimidating?  Even after installing the software and opening my first file.....I was intimidated.  I have to set the blade depth? What?  I have to add the cut lines?  Huh?  Trace feature?  Witchcraft?  But like one YouTube video later I was beginning to pick it up.

Why won't this print?
My first task was just cut a printable from my shop - I don't design in a program that will save as a graphic so I converted my PDF to a PNG and opened it in the Silhouette Studio program.  I played with the registration marks, I added cut lines.  I hit print.  Nothing.

Eventually I had like 8 pending jobs in my print queue!  Eventually one went through and I was able to print.

Damn it, I didn't add registration marks.
I took the registration marks off to work on my cut lines...and in the excitement I didn't add them back.  So I had a few pages that I couldn't cut with the machine.  Damn it.

What the actual f***?
I plugged in the machine and loaded the adhesive paper on the mat.  I didn't calibrate, (still don't know how to do that!) and hit send to Silhouette.  It. Was. So. Loud.  Louder than my Cricut, and much faster.  No problem reading the registration marks.  No bleed on the print.  Zip Zip Zip.....Cut Cut Cut.  Damn printable is cut.  Like, holy hell.  What is this witchcraft?

I imported.  I traced.  I imported. I added cut lines.  I printed.  I loaded the Silhoutte.  And before I knew it I had a stack of cut stickers.  Cut stickers! Honestly, I was so blown away at the speed, ease, and accuracy after just a few moments of doing this.  Imported PDFs turned to PNGs, added cut lines/traced areas, send to printer.  If you didn't get this on Black Friday from Amazon for like $99....you should totally stalk the site until a deal comes up that you're willing to pay.  Best money I've spent.  No lie.  And I was impressed with my Cricut when I first got it.  But this? This was amazing.

Why didn't I do this sooner?
And then I just printed and cut until my dog kept pawing at me to go 'night night'.  Seriously.  Why didn't I do this sooner!

So this is just a little first impressions type of post on my Silhouette but I do plan to do a few DIYs, tutorials, and comparison between the Cricut Explore and the Silhouette Portrait.  I am glad I have both and I plan to tell you why!

Has there ever been something you were super impressed with and shocked you didn't try sooner?

xoxo, Moe
