A few days ago I posted about what I would love to find out thrifting. Well I can mark off a few things on my list, including owls!!! Check out the list here.
I found a set of two for 2 bucks! One is for my sister & the other for me. I am going to paint them because everyone loves a fun color. He might even have a name! Here they are:
I also found a pair of red shoes with a small little heel for .99 cents. The two watches were $5.99. The red one is a wind up watch & I am pretty sure it is broken but I changed the battery in the other one & it works fine! I have another watch that looks like the silver one only it is gold & has little rhinestones around it. I need to grab a battery for that one too.
I am going to put a picture of my puppy in the wind up one so it's sort of like a locket. Keep an eye out for that tutorial!
Happy Sunday! I can't believe we are already at the beginning of the 2nd week of 2011!

Lifestyle Idea: How to Keep a Book Open
You know when your sitting on the beach tanning, reading that romance novel & trying to keep the pages open forcing you to lay in an uncomfortable position? Or perhaps you are cooking a delicious meal from one of your mother's or grandmother's old cook books struggling to keep the pages open so as not to serve a horrible dish like Rachel's catastrophe on Friends?
I stumbled upon a clever idea today from Bloomize on keeping a book open to the right page:

I stumbled upon a clever idea today from Bloomize on keeping a book open to the right page:
using a flexible curler, cable twist tie, & a piece of craft wire.
I like the look of the curler. It's so funny!
For a cleaner & cuter look, cover the wire with a bit of ribbon:

Doily Valentine's Day Decor: Home, Office, Classroom
Doilies are, to me, the most essential part of Valentine's day. I remember using the paper ones to create cards & decorations when I was little. Crocheted doilies are the grown up versions of the paper ones we used to give to classmates & friends.
Check out the Valentine's Day Shop over at With Love to pick up some doilies in sets of 2, 3 & 4. Perfect for classroom, office & home decor. Use them as coasters during your romantic candle lit dinners or dress up your gift giving to friends & family.
