My mother used to have these two horrendous silk shirts she'd wear all the time. And by horrendous I mean when I was 12 I thought they were so-not-cool & now being 24 I think they are oh-so-awesome.
I remember begging her not to wear them tucked into her jeans with her little pointed toe black clogs. But like everything a mother knows, most of the time she know that things (in this case fashionable things) will come back around. Now, thinking back on that horrendous outfit all I want to do is go back in time, slap some bangles on her wrists with a big chunky watch, throw some awesome sunglasses on her head & call her awesome. Because, on a side note, my mom & sister are the perfect people to dress up and do fashion experiments. Really, I consider them my real life paper dolls.
So I am adding to my thrift list silk shirts with great pops of color like this one:
I wonder if my mom still has those shirts.

Things to add to my Thrift List
So, we've finally settled on a place to live, I have the prospect of a new job,
& I can't wait for things to just smooth out
(please send positive job thoughts my way today!)
I've been thinking of some new things to add to my thrift list since we might go out thrifting today:
- large mirror
I really want a big one to lean to the wall on top of my dresser.
- alarm clock
- rake head
Isn't this the greatest?? I know a junk shop back at school that had everything related to old tools like this. I really hope I can find an awesome little shop in my new town!
I still haven't found a great thrift shop yet....but it's my quest!
- storage baskets
You know, cuz you can never store enough things!
- assorted tins
I really want a little place on my dresser with a tray & some candles, right in front of the mirror.
It will look so cute, right?
I just can't wait to be settled.
What are you looking to thrift?

Sum Up Sundays: Thrifted Finds
A few days ago I posted about what I would love to find out thrifting. Well I can mark off a few things on my list, including owls!!! Check out the list here.
I found a set of two for 2 bucks! One is for my sister & the other for me. I am going to paint them because everyone loves a fun color. He might even have a name! Here they are:
I also found a pair of red shoes with a small little heel for .99 cents. The two watches were $5.99. The red one is a wind up watch & I am pretty sure it is broken but I changed the battery in the other one & it works fine! I have another watch that looks like the silver one only it is gold & has little rhinestones around it. I need to grab a battery for that one too.
I am going to put a picture of my puppy in the wind up one so it's sort of like a locket. Keep an eye out for that tutorial!
Happy Sunday! I can't believe we are already at the beginning of the 2nd week of 2011!
