Tempted Tuesday // Spring Fever

Spring Fever

Spring Fever by fivesixteenthsblog featuring sendra boots

It's been pretty warm around these parts the past few days so I've been scouring the net for some lovely spring dress inspiration.  I found this great dress over on Spotted Moth & fell in love!  I've always loved Spotted Moth & just used up the last of my Bergamot & Blood Orange scented soap.  To die for!

I am loving geoed & nature-inspired rings, monochrome watches and pretty patterns & pastels for spring right now.  This dress has a lovely Art Deco inspired motif reminding me of my days in Art History classes!  I've been on the search for dresses recently because I love a feminine shape.  The caplet like neckline & belted waist on this dress just seem so perfect!  One thing I've realized over the past 3-4 years is that this color yellow/green will never cease to be one of my favorites.  It's a second to purple, but I have to say I lean towards this color for nearly everything!

Spring Manicures have been on my mind lately too.  Right now I am on the hunt for the perfect Nude & have just recently found the perfect Pastel Pink!  The darker colors from fall & winter are ready to be packed away again.  I was especially fond of pumpkin colors this past fall but chose to spice things up a bit with more glitter manicures as we got into winter.  Glitter is another big thing that supposed to be en vogue this spring.  (Glitter isn't just for Christmas you know, I support it 365!)

On another note I've been reading through Kaelah's PR & Marketing book & have found some great ideas! I am excited to be whipping my blog/brand/shop into shape!

Do you have any faves for Spring?

What I Wore 9.21.2011

Today at the office was filled with pulses of busy & not so busy.  At one point I had a desk full of fifty things (it was more like 3) then nothing.

Have I mentioned before I love my job? Have I also mentioned before that I am an office manager? I feel like I am playing office all day.  Which is fun until it gets stressful.  But I get to work & have fun & not worry about too many things related to it over the weekend.  Which leaves loads of time to work on le shop.

Speaking of le shop, With Love Crochet has some great items for fall! Great necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hats for your man, & all around cool goodies.  Why don't you pop on over?

Anyway here is what I wore today:
dress :: Khol's clearance ($18)
Shirt (under the dress) :: JCP clearance
Cardigan :: TJ Maxx
Tights :: Icing Clearance (bought them yesterday! $7)
Ring :: JCP Clearance & gift from Mom from Consignment Shop
Watch :: Target ($12)

I don't pay full price for anything any more.  Well, when it comes to clothes and such.  I feel there is no point.  I think I may have a new goal of only buying one full price thing a month, if any (now when I say this, I mean if something is like $10 as full price. Because, well, c'mon!).  Not that I go shopping at retail places every month but if I do end up doing so, I am going to try to only buy from the clearance.

I wore this same exact dress yesterday with a different frilly shirt under it & different cardigan.  Too much? Perhaps, but I freaking love it! I didn't think I would see any of the same people today but our director came in...I dunno if he noticed it was the same.  whoops!

I am so psyched for the fall.  I can't wait for the first official day this week.  I really feel like these clogs are going to be a staple.  Do you think they are too outrageous?

I am totally & eternally in love with them!  Perhaps I've been watching too much Felicity.  Who knows.

Tonight I have to go home & get the house ready for Kitchen Band.  A local group of friends of ours who sit around in each other's kitchens/living rooms & play instruments.  I am learning to play the guitar for the second time.  Music & I don't really get along.  The first kitchen band I went to I played the tambourine. Talented right?

Have you ever been so enamored with an outfit you wore it twice in a row?
Has anyone ever caught you?

Fan Fridays: I Feel Like Cinderella

In two weeks I get to go to a formal black tie event at our local art gallery for the university I go to! I am so super excited!
I feel like this:

I get to go because I am on the school's certified 15 passenger bus driver list & am friends with the other person driving the bus.  She can't drive for a few of the hours on the day of the event so I get to drive!

I really want to wear a pair of these:

The party involves guests wearing black & white while mingling with themselves & living paintings!! Certain art students (& other students) auditioned to be painted up & dressed up & to stay in character all night.  So not only will I be hanging out with some friends I'll be semi talking to characters.  So Great!!!  Pop over to Cross My Hooks for an outline some paintings/photographs/etc that will come to life.

This weekend I am going to look for a dress to wear, hopefully on the cheap.  But if I had a million dollars, I'd do this:

Vintage Wedding Gown from Chiffon Lounge

Tea Length Wedding Dress from Cupids Arrow
(even though I am pretty sure this isn't suited for an evening function)
or pretty much any dress form this shop.
please, please, please click the link..you will fall in love!!

These rad shoes if I had a floor length dress
we aren't supposed to wear color so "the paintings" are the focus

I can't wait to go find a dress.  I am so excited.  woo hoo!!

I Love Dresses

There is one thing that I will always pick up where ever I go: A dress.

I love dresses & skirts & my closet is full of them.  While checking my blog updates today, I ran across this post on Smile and Wave about an etsy shop celebrating its 1000th sale.  Thats right 1000! If only I could get to 1000!

I popped over to the shop (Poor Pitiful Pearl) & found this gorgeous dress.  Too bad I am not a size small or I would buy it.  I am half tempted to buy it & make my sister wear it!

Go check out the shop & really cool blog!  Another great thing is that 10% of profits go to Casa Hogar Orphanage.  A shop with a cause!
