My Favorite People to Follow on Twitter

This post is just a random post to let you in on my Twitter obsession.  It has made my day every single day to see new followers of my crazy ramblings on Twitter.  Twitter really is the best thing since sliced bread & I love being able to connect with people interested in the same things.  I love answering questions, sharing cool stuff, & just all around promoting what I love! It is the perfect forum to spread anything (maybe not the common cold, but you get the idea)

I love Twitter & I love to tweet, so I thought I'd share who I most love to follow in case you're looking for some more awesomeness in your life:

My Queens // I love me some lovely Drag Queens, so the queens I follow (in no particular order are) Raven, Pandora Boxx, Mimi Imfurst, & Juju Bee.  I LOVE me some RuPaul's Drag Race & can't get over it.  I love that Logo has the episodes online, too.  There is nothing better than a man in a dress, just saying :)

Campfire Chic // This chick is like a social media maven.  She has such good advice & there is always something awesome coming from her part of the twittersphere.  Whether its asking her monthly question or sharing the things she's found, I love it.  There has been more than one occasion that I've suggested something of hers to other bloggers.

My Creatives // These people are people that I look up to, that are creative, inspiring, & just make me happy.  They spread awesomeness like it's no body's business & you should just go follow them now.  This includes people like Kaelah Bee, SuiteOneStudio, GoodDayHoward, PuglyPixel, KeriBotch, & Pamplemousse83.  There is always in inspiring word to be said, a compliment to be given, an interesting thing to check out, a creative endeavor, & fun positivity in their tweets.  I love having them in my twitter roll.

My Bffls // These tweeps are the ones I interact with on a daily basis & ones that I am sure would be so fun to hang out with if we were all ever in the same room.  I love being able to have a conversation with them whenever I can.  These people are Kristin1028, Leonuhhh, Katie_Rhine, & Megan_Flynn.  Half of these people are real life friends, the other half are friends I'd like to meet in real life!

Most importantly though, I appreciate each & every person I follow on twitter and every person that follows me.  I am really picky about who I follow because I don't want to get over run but I love interacting with everyone on Twitter so go on ahead and send me a tweet tweet! It's just so much fun to share!

I am still in the process & don't know if I'll get there of organizing the tweepies I follow into lists.  I think it's a great feature if you only want to see updates from a few select people.  I just wish I could get motivated to organize my inbox!! I still have no idea what to do!

What types of people do you follow on Twitter? Have any one absolute favorite?

Sum Up Sunday // Creativity & Beer

Apparently, a favorite past time of mine is drinking.  Over the last weekend I went to a Beer Festival where I sampled some lovely beer then was a vendor at an art fair that preceded a trip to our favorite bar.  Apparently I appreciate alcohol too much.  Don't give me much crap though, I seem to be fairing quite well.  I blame it on the fact that one of my good friends is a home brewer & beer enthusiast.  He knew the guy putting on the beer fest & he needed to relax after a hard day of sitting with us at our booth.  (yeah right.)  However, I will say that at the bar last Sunday I had the BEST EVER chicken sandwich.  I couldn't believe how tasty it was.  I want like 100 more!

Here are some pictures of last weekend:

That guy in the plaid shirt is the home brewer who drags our (not so) reluctant butts to cool places that have beer & live music.  I will say though, beer fests aren't the greatest if you are out in the hot sun & don't drink any water.  Carry a bottle in your purse!  We got 4 tickets to sample local & other Virginia breweries.  I, however, only sampled two because I didn't quite like the 2nd one.  So I gave away my tickets.  We stood & sat for a good few hours enjoying good music, good friends, and good beer.
Then on Sunday Katie & I loaded up the car with our goodies to sell at an art festival. We didn't make many sales & it gets me rather discouraged.  But I just keep on keeping on.  Hopefully one day I'll be able to make it some sort of my living you know.  We wrapped up the evening by heading to our fave bar for food & mug night.  I've never had such a delicious chicken sandwich in my life!

Then, on about Tuesday night or so, Zach told me a secret he's been keeping along with Katie.  This is all mine:
Zach bought me a kiln.  He bought me a kiln for crying out loud! I never expected it in my wildest dreams.  We talked about it a while ago when we were in Michigan...but I never thought he'd get me one.  Are. You. Kidding. Me? Best. Boyfriend. Ever!  Talk about encouragement.

So that was my week. How was yours?

Sum Up Sunday // Winery Tour

This is a late Sum Up Sunday post but while I've come out of my Margarita-ness to watch a few new to me Dr. Who episodes on Netflix I thought I'd share with you some horrible photos for the Williamsburg Winery Tour we went on.

Williamsburg Winery

A few friends came in from out of town & we used a super great Groupon deal for a winery tour.  For about 5 bucks a person, (there were 8 of us!) we got to take a short tour & taste about 6 wines.  I really found out that I do not like red wine but really like Riesling.  I know nothing about wines, but I sure learned a lot about aging & fermenting, etc.  It was nice.

I tried to get pictures inside but they all turned out horrible.  First we watched a video about Virginia's attempt at wine making in the past.  Then we headed into a great hall type of deal where they have dinners & receptions.  (It was beautiful!)  Then we headed down into the cellars, learned more about the bottling process, & finally the tasting.

Then we hung around outside. Did you know they only use the barrels for the wine 5 times? The first two are for reserve wine & the the last three are wines you'd buy regularly.  Red stays longer in the barrels than white (white is only in the barrels for I believe up to 8 months, it might be only 3 though).

These barels didn't have anything in them, they were just outside the winery.
It was a lovely weekend filled with wine, bowling, & mexican food.  I also got some semi good news.  Zach may not have to leave in May once his lease is up.  He may be able to stay here for a little while longer.  I really hope we can figure out what we are going to do, because this whole being separate thing is not looking to be fun!

What did you do this week? Any good company to talk about ?

Engagement Party Recap

This past weekend I hosted an engagement party for my two roomies Katie & Jason.  They are getting married at the end of August.  We all just moved in to a little town house (catch a teeny tour here) & it's been kinda weird.  Not because I am living with a so-to-be married couple (I lived with a friend & her boyfriend during college) but because all three of us have totally different tastes in everything!

We have different tastes in shows, in decor, in making food, even in milk (soy for Katie, Skim for me, none for Jason).  It's been a weird dynamic but so far so good.  We try to cook meals for each other a few times a week & to use up each others leftovers.  Often you will hear us saying "I have this..." trying to put a meal together with a between-grocery-shopping cabinet.

Anyway, this weekend I cooked a delish Mexican Fiesta inspired meal with hand shredded seasoned chicken tacos at the center of it all.  I bought some chicken breasts, baked them & shredded them with two forks (is that the right way?) & seasoned them:

Little Chicken of Love

This is the part I am most proud of!

The party also included some delicious Cilantro Lime Rice from Target:
I wish I had a picture of the bowl of rice, I made too much.
We ate it the next day & the next day....

I got decorations from the Dollar Tree since I knew that it was going to really only take primary colors to make the Fiesta idea a reality.  I originally wanted more orange, but the Dollar tree only had red, yellow, & blue.  The green I got from Target:

All layed out...

instagram just for fun!

Our home is filled with the guacamole green like in the image of the cilantro lime rice.  We love green!

Then after the delicious dinner, we headed to the bar to meet up with some friends who couldn't make it to our house.  Luckily for us it was Mugarita night so we didn't have to deviate from the Fiesta theme!

Notice all of the mugs on the table.....Mugaritas!

All in all it was a pretty productive weekend.

Also I am pretty impressed with my little iPhone camera.  All of these pictures were taken with her.  The only thing I've really noticed is that you have to hold completely still or the shot is blurry.  It's like having a little point & shoot everywhere you go.  I love the photo apps as well.  Even if your shot is a little shaky, it is still good enough to post on instagram & the like.  I feel like I fall in love with my phone every time it takes a great shot.  Tomorrow I'll be reviewing my fave camera apps for iPhone but the main ones I stick to are instagram & Picture Show.  More tomorrow!

Have you thrown any parties lately?
Have you made a meal you were super proud of?
