Dorm Dec Wednesday: Moving Out

If you've been paying any bit of attention, then you'll know
that since January I've been planning to move in with one of bblfs.
It's finally happening......I am meeting another one of my 20 before 24 goals

Moving has been both terrifying & exciting.
I have gone from a small campus apartment to sleeping on a couch for a few weeks
& the final step will take place in a month
where we will move into our own little place - just two bblfs, a dog, & a backyard (& perhaps a boyfriend)
but mainly just us.
we both can't wait!

I imagine this is how I will feel:

Isn't this little music vid so cute?
I can't wait to be able to call a little place my own.

How did it feel when you moved out? were you terrified?

Tempted Tuesday: Plate Wall

I love pattern & am falling for these plate accent walls:

And there are some great plates I've seen at Target that I am totally in love with that would be perfect.  They are probably too expensive to just buy & hang but this is a great idea to display some of your favorite plates.  Grab up a few from the thrift store & use those Porcelain pens on them too.

You can also use some clear plates, patterned tissue paper or cut out shapes, & mod podge to create custom plates. Adhere the tissue paper or cut out shapes to the back of the clear plate with the mod podge & allow to dry.  Seal with a spray sealant & hang.  I don't recommend using them to eat off of but you could totally use them as a plate under your serving plate.  That would create a great table scape!

My favorite decorative glass plates come from etsy:

I just love collections.  I think they make a home inviting!

I can't wait until I have our place to decorate!

Make it Monday: Grad Party Decor

Well I did it. I walked across that stage in my little white wedges, shook the hand of our University President, desended those stairs, & entered into big kid land.

Wowee, it sure was a long ride.
I am not doing a big ol' graduation party because I really feel its pointless right now.
I already have a job, I have to start working, I don't really have time to put up pretty decorations & drink margaritas. My high school graduation I took really seriously & threw a party with lots of decorations.  This time, I am much happier being able to move out.

If I did throw a party, I'd love to make these DIY decorations in good old Blue & White spirit!

these spiral decorations would be great over a buffet table.

I love to decorate for parties but I hate taking it down. It takes so long to set up I just want to leave it up.

Congrats to all the grads in the blogsphere....we can have a virtual graduation party!
Enjoy your summer & good luck!
