Trend Tuesday // Planner Lust

The other day I found four extra Color Crush binders in our spare room.  They were set up in this little background vignette I was going to film in front of.  So I took them down, walked out of the room and headed over to my planner shelf...*ahem shelves*.  Then I looked at Zach and said "I need to fit these four planners....and I don't know how we got here'.

So what else do I do?  Lust after more planners.  Done.  Here are planners I 100% need in my life.  Here we go:

this post contains affiliate links, please read my full disclosure here.

Grape Simple Stories Carpe Diem A5 Planner Binder

Purple? Check.  Great quality? Check.  (Watch my review of the new style of Simple Stories Carpe Diem planners here.)  Fits my newly rediscovered memory planner? Check.  I just love the Carpe Diem planners - and this purple one tops the charts.  Plus, this one doesn't have the window pocket.  I'm not a fan of those.  This layout is features on the Scrapbook.com website and uses the Emoji Love Collection.  I 100% need that too.  Shop the layout here.  You can also find the new Carpe Diem collections on Blitsy, here.

Discagenda Constellations Cover, Personal Size, Snap Closure

image via dokibook.com
Half the problem of all the planners is that I now use a Mini Happy Planner and there are only a few binder covers for this planner.  Enter the Discagenda covers from DokiBook.  Oh. Em. Geeee!  I hear the personal size Discagenda cover fits the Mini Happy Planner and this one with the constellations....it's over with.  Cue happy dance.  Bye, bye $26.50.  Hello happiness.  Not a fan of the Mini HP?  Boom - ring bound in A5 and personal.  Done, you're welcome.

Webster's Pages A5 Faux Leather Composition Planner

The last thing I need to do is start something new....like the Bullet Journal.  I am really interested in all the beautiful spreads.  And I'd probably use it more like a journal than a planner.  But the last thing I need is a new planner system.  The thing I love about the Composition Planner though is that it can fit multiple composition books.  I really do want to try out the composition books to see if the paper quality is anything like the traveler's notebooks.  That paper is very nice.  This planner would be great to carry multiple subjects for school too.

Webster's Pages Color Crush Navy Floral Travelers' Notebook Planner

I already love my mint floral traveler's notebook, so why not add the Navy Floral into the mix.  These notebooks are great for journaling.  I love that I can have multiple journals in the notebook.  A great way to be creative on the go.

Shop Related Products on Amazon!

So, there are four new planners that I need to find room for on my shelf.  Don't be surprised if you see a new planner review on my YouTube channel in the near future.  I sure do hope it's the Discagenda Cover!

Are you lusting after any new planners?  Any new planner accessories? Any new planners I should know about?

When will it be Summer Wish List

the snow is still going strong here in northwest Indiana and I am ready for some warmer weather.  I am ready to start complaining about how dang hot it is!  I've already brought Spring to the etsy shop with some vintage floral notes pages but I really need this Winter to turn into Spring and the Spring to turn into Summer.

I threw together this little wish list of sorts to persuade warmer weather to head my way.  I can't wait for bright lipstick, iced coffee, sandals, and sunnies.  C'mon Spring! C'mon Summer!

Are you wishing for warmer weather?  What's it like outside where you are?

March 2014 Wish List

Hello there March!  The third month of the year already....I can't believe it.  I think the year is off to a good start so far.  I feel like last year this time I was pushing myself so hard and I'm glad I'm a little bit more relaxed this year.  Sometimes, somethings just aren't for everyone.  I believe March marks a year since I've went back to work full time & while I still dream of self employment...I just don't think I'm ready yet.  I daydream at work of being home & creating things I love but I like the stability of the full time work that I have.  This year is going to kick butt - but in a different way, hopefully!  Here's my March wish list:
Bath & Body Works Candles - Man, good candles are expensive!  I'm looking to pick up some B&BW candles from the outlet near us & I hope they have this Honey Suckle Scent!  Honey Suckle is my favorite scent!

How Bout Them Apples Lip & Cheek Stain Palette from the Balm - I love the Balm products mainly because their packaging is so adorable.  I love my Balm Voyage palette & the NudeTude palette so this needs to make it into my collection!  I purchase the Balm products on Amazon & on HauteLook when they are featured there.

Forbidden Desert Board Game - We played this for the first time in February with some friends & I really want to own it!  It's a great cooperative game to play if you have some really smart friends.  You all have to work together to all get off the island - if one person dies, everyone dies & you all lose!  There's also Forbidden Island that's sort of the same premise but I haven't played it yet.

Pretty Patterned Pens - Mainly I just want pretty pens for my planner.  I've been using the same pen for a long time.  I just looked back on my old blog planner & I've been using the same style pens (hey, they might even be the exact same).  I don't think you have to be super pretty when you're planning but it certainly can't hurt.  These pens are from a site I just discovered called Poketo.  Oh my gosh, I'm in love with all the stationery options!  They sell much more than stationery though I totally want this iPhone wallet case, too.  I've been on the hunt for one of these.

Colorful House Throw from Modcloth - I'm thinking of using this as scrap yarn blanket inspiration.  You don't know how much scrap yarn I have here.  I need to get to work on it.  I haven't had too much time to make any blankets but I'd like to make some more.

My Signature Cocktail Shaker - This appeals to the artist in me, really the art school kid in me.  How awesome is this shaker in the shape of spray paint.  It just makes me giddy & I want to make all the drinks in it.

What are you wishing for this month?  Happy March!

xoxo, Moe

February 2014 Wishlist

I wasn't going to post a wishlist this month because I din't really want anything new this month. But now that I think about it there are a few things I do want to get my hands on this month.  Some of this months wants include things with time - I want a wii fit board to spend time being active since it's snowy & cold and I want to spend time enjoying my coffee.  Anyway, more on the items below:

Wii Fit Board - Like I said, it's snowy & cold out.  Usually I'm on the couch under a blanket and that's not very active.  I mean during the warmer months it's not like I have an exercise routine but I am more active because I'm not freezing.  One of my favorite games - though I don't know what disk it's on with the games that go with the wii fit board - is the hula hoop game.  So there's always the reason that I want to invisible hula hoop in my living room.

Bigger Make Up Bag - Right now I don't really have anything big enough to travel with.  Every bag I have is too tiny for what I need to bring.  This one was just too cute on the Forever21 website!

Beauty Blender - I had enough points through Ipsy to get a Beauty Blender for free this month so I'm anxiously waiting for it to come in the mail.  I had enough points because some of you signed up through my link! I'm so happy for that & thank you all a bunch!  If you're interested in signing up for Ipsy check out some of my reviews here & click here to sign up!

More Time Enjoying Coffee - Simple coffee is very enjoyable to me but lately I've been drinking coffee for energy & not to enjoy it.  I drink a cup between key strokes each morning in the office but I don't enjoy it.  That sounds so harsh!  I just want to have more coffee & me time like the time I spend with it on the weekends.

Eco Tools Face & Body Sculpting Brush - This reminds me of the NARS Ita brush I've seen around.  It seems like it would be great for contouring!  I actually want to try out a few of the Eco Tools brushes but in stores I can't find the ones I'm looking for - so on to Amazon it is!

Anything & Everything Radiant Orchid - If you didn't know from yesterday's post my favorite color is purple so I'm so in love with the Pantone Color of the year.  I'll take one of each please!  That mug seems amazing I think I need it to take coffee to work - yeah right I make my coffee at work, saves time (& my coffee) in the morning!

New NYX Butter Lipsticks - I just want more lipstick & want to take a trip to Ulta.  I've seen a few reviews & swatches of these guys so I want to try a few myself.

So that's what I'm wishing for this February - along with the wish that this snow will go away so I can go onto complaining about how hot it is.  Yeah, I want that.

What are you wishing for this month?  Anything fun you want to do or try?

xoxo, Moe

January Wishlist

Hello 2014!  What a way to kick off the recovery from Christmas spending than with a Wish List post.  I know, I'm full of sarcasm lately - #sorrynotsorry.  Wish list posts are fun to compile but seriously we just celebrated Christmas!  I have to say that there's not too much I'm lusting after this January except for warm weather & all the new drugstore make up.
January Wish List

Things I want to do : Straighten up & organize my vanity // Clean up the Guest Bathroom // Clean up the Guest Bedroom

Of course a lot of drugstore make up brands are coming out with a zillion new things, so it's time to raise that credit limit & pick it all up. (just kidding! sort of)  What I'm looking forward to the most are all the new things from Wet n Wild.  A great drugstore brand in general.  They are coming out with chubby lip pencil balm stains, new lip glosses, a mattifying powder, a BB cream, and a few more things.  I can't wait to pick up some neat stuff.  Also, CoverGirl has a new Bombshell mascara that has a dual ended applicator.  One end is like the Lash Blast mascaras & the other end is a standard brush type wand.  If you read this post about my favorite volumizing mascaras you know I use Lash Blast first then top it with other volumizing mascaras that have more of a traditional wand.  So I'm excited to see how this one works.

Not new at the drugstore is the L'Oreal Youth Code line.  I already have the Serum & got the Day/Night Cream for Christmas.  So I thought I'd round it out with the cleanser.  You may remember mentioning the oil cleansing method earlier on this blog - but I got bored and wanted to try something new.  Whenever my skin in thirsty, like right now in the winter, I pull back out my coconut oil & hydrate my skin.  I've realized now that you can have oily & dry skin at the same time.  How weird!

Part of my Four Little Goals for this month are to get the guest bedroom & bathroom together.  I want it to look put together for our friend we have coming soon but also want to put a little table in there for sewing.  Time get get crafty again!  My bed is in the room (so it's super comfy, lol) so all of my floral sheets are in there.  I can't wait to really have that as a bright & happy room.  We also need to hang the bathroom mirror.  This is included in my wish list because I totally can't wait to get back to working on the house!

Something just thrown in here is reorganizing my vanity.  Since my collection keeps growing I keep out growing what I already have.  I need to figure out a way to store it all!

What are you wishing for this Januray?  Anything you want to accomplish?

xoxo, Moe

December Wishlist

December is here! This is the opening for every wish list post I do, but really everything flies by!  This December I'm excited to travel home for the holidays, so thats a big one on my wish list!
December Wishlist

Traveling home for the holidays // Holiday cookie & food eating // Coastal Scents Revealed Palette but it's sold out! // Physicians Formula Mineral Correction Concealer // New Glasses from Zenni Optical

I found out about this Revealed palette on YouTube from Emily of Beauty Broadcast & instantly went to the website only to find out it's sold out!  I'm on the email list for when it returns though (and I hope it does!)  I love neutral colors, lord knows I don't need any more.  I also saw the Physicians Formula concealers on YouTube (don't remember where) and want to give them a try.  I can't find them in my drugstores though. Where, oh where are you?

I'm hoping there are cookies made or we'll make cookies when I'm home as well.  I'm also excited for all the holiday foods that come along with December.  I've already made some cookies & they were yummy.  I'm also looking for new glasses.  These may or may not have already been ordered!  I love the clear frames (the color on the website says blue though, I hope they don't look funny on me!)  The frames I've have forever are finally wearing out & I just want something new.  I have yet to make an appointment for contacts so I thought new glasses would be good.

What are you wishing for this December?

My November Wishlist & No Buy November

I can't believe it's November!  I feel like I just shared my October wishlist!  Which I have an update - remember that scarf I had in the post?  Well I totally made one, I just haven't shared it yet - lazy is the excuse.  But here is my November wishlist:
I'm actually doing a No Buy November.  Because I don't need to buy any more make up or beauty related items.  But I just love trying new things!  I think the only exception will be Black Friday Weekend & Cyber Monday - because you can't beat those prices!  So a lot of these things are sort of out of reach, dream items!  I think the only things I'll try to buy this month are Decorations for Xmas - I need lights for the tree & a wreath.  But then I might just go to the dollar tree for these things :)

What are you lusting after for Novemember?

October Wishlist

I'm having fun doing these wish list type posts!  It really gets me set for the mood of the month but I can't believe it's already October.  Did you know this October marks 2 years Zach & I have been together?  Crazy, right?  We've also been in our house a year & while we still have a bit to go, we've come soooooo far!  I'm going to do a little post on the biggest part of our home - converting the downstairs garage into a beautiful living room.  But this is not that post, this post is about my October wish list!
October Wishlist

October Wishlist by fivesixteenthsblog featuring madewell shoes

Jeans - I'm all out of jeans!  I have one pair that I love that fit me well & the others I just don't like.  I always get my jeans from Forever21+.  They fit great & are super affordable.  Plus, I love this chick's outfit!  These are their favorite jeans & I'll probably pick up at least two in this denim color.

Scarves - I'm on a crochet kick & while this one is from Icing, I think I could totally make a different texture scarf from some of my yarn stash.  I also saw some cool textured yarn on sale at Hobby Lobby so if there are a few I like, this style of design is perfect to use them up.  I also want to make one from a pretty fall colored variegated yarn that I believe is made by Red Heart.

Benefit's Hello Flawless Foundation - I got this as a sample from BirchBox (I believe!) a few boxes ago & am in love.  I haven't mustered up the courage to go pick it up since it's $36, but I might just go do that this month.  I really do love the foundation but I have others that are just as good so I've been putting it off.

BH Cosmetics Blush in Rose - This little duo is too cute.  I think this bright rose red color will be perfect as the weather cools down.  It also has a little highlight shade. Plus the packaging is adorable.  BH Cosmetics is pretty affordable too.

Pumkin Decor - Last weekend I made a wreath for the front door & I really want some more fall type decorations.  Not necessarily Halloween, but more fall.  I'm thinking about getting some faux pumpkins from the craft store for the outside.  Did you know there are faux pumpkins that you can carve? I think they are called funkins, or something.  That would be cool - no need for all the mess!  I'm not sure if I'll carve the faux ones but they would be nice as decoration you can keep over the years.  This weekend  or next weekend I'm hoping we go to a pumpkin patch, maybe do a hayride or corn maze.  You know, traditional fall things.

Loafers & Moccasins - I always need a new pair of moccasins each fall.  Mine just seem to fall apart!  I'm also on the hunt for a comfortable loafer for work.  Last month I mentioned low heeled boots but I still haven't found any I like.

So that's it!  October is here & I don't know what to do.  Soon it will be November & then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then we'll welcome 2014.  Are you kidding?  Time sure does fly.

What's in your October wishlist?

xoxo, Moe

Trend Tuesday // September Wish List

August is over!  Which means Summer is pretty much out the door.  It has been a pretty crazy one as well - with starting a new job & improving as it goes into Summer and reaching one year away from Virginia, it's been pretty weird.  I've felt out of my element, I didn't get as much done as I'd like to, and I sorta let time slip by but sometimes you just have to live & go with the flow.  However I will say this past Spring/Summer I sort of just let things happen rather than made things happen.  So that needs to be taken care of!  But September is here, a fresh new season, a fresh new start - here's what I'm wishing for:

September Wishlist

Glade Fall Hayride Candle - So I already have this & it literally fills the house with a fall fragrance!  They were two for $5 at Meijer & I scooped the last two up.  I've been burning them for the past 5 days & will have to pick up more soon.  I'm super impressed with the fragrance & how it fills the room.  I love candles but the ones that fill your house with fragrance are often super expensive.  So I pair them with other either unscented candles or cheaply scented ones so I can have that candle lit glow with out spending a zillion dollars or good candles.  After all one or two of these glad ones will fill a room, no need to burn more than you have to!

Candy Corn - You may have seen my picture on Instagram of candy corn (in fact I think I posted two pictures!).  I am so excited that fall is around the corner.  Candy corn is one of my favorite candies & they look so pretty in a container together.

Big Sweaters - The other day Zach brought me home a rocking chair for the front porch.  I'm so excited to enjoy the fall weather in the morning - sitting outside, wrapped in a huge & comfy sweater, sipping my coffee, enjoying our view.  I want the nice crisp fall weather to last!  Comfy sweaters just make the season so much more delightful.

Boots - I love boots, I'm a boots gal.  I love the style of these & am on the hunt for a low heeled boot.  All of mine are short, cowboy-esque boots.  Once this crisp weather hits, you'll see me in boots until spring.  They are my favorite shoe!

An Upgrade - I believe I have an upgrade on my phone plan but I'm holding off because I'm waiting to see if there's going to be a new iPhone release in September.  Then I can get my hands on a new case too!

Magnetic Make up Storage - On Monday I posted my DIY magnetic palette but I'm thinking I might upgrade to the Z palette system.  My DIY version has worked great, but as you can see I'm running out of room for eyeshadows! I don't want to have a whole bunch of mismatched palettes in my collection so I might upgrade to a real Z palette.  Or at least keep experimenting with different DIY versions I can  make to match over time.

Toffee Nut Latte  - For a lot of you Starbucks drinkers out there it's not Fall until you've had your first Pumpkin Spice Latte, but for me it's not fall until I've had my first Toffee Nut Latte!  While these are available all year - they are yummy in a frapicino! - I try to reserve them for Fall, just because they taste like Christmas to me.

What are you looking forward to this Fall?  Any cooler weather traditions to keep?

xoxo, Moe

Things I Want to Make // My To-Sew List

I think the best part of our house is the blending of Zach & I together that I see around the whole place.  We share a desk area, we share a workshop space (what will be my ceramics studio & his woodworking area) in the garage, and you know those other parts of the house couples share.  There's a third little work area though that will be all my own - my sewing table.

I'm super excited to find the perfect little table to sit under the window in the spare bedroom - I may have found the best one at Big Lots but we'll see.  I'll also use this room - because the light is so lovely - to photograph our vintage stuff, but for now I'm just day dreaming of my to-sew list.
You may think I want to take on a giant project like a quilt or a dress or something but no.....I like to keep it simple!  Just a few little things & just a few little stitches.  If I tackled a quilt it would never get done....too much work!  I'm a quick fix kinda gal!

a maxi skirt or two - I feel I may need a few in a few colors.  Maybe a few in jersey knit & maybe a few in a different fabric.
more aprons - I used to sew aprons right after I got my sewing machine at the end of college.  I made one for a friend, one for me, & had plans for some for the shop but only ever got one totally finished.  I really want to dedicate a weekend to busting out 5 or 10 & get them in the Five One Six shop.
hem the living room curtains - the one on the door is a bit too long...so it needs to be taken up more than a couple of inches.
sewing placemat keep all thingy - I want to make a little placemat type of thingy that also has some pockets that hang off the side of the table to hold bits of stuff.  My original reasoning behind this was because I was planning on remaking a TV tray as a tiny sewing desk.  But now I think I'm going bigger for my table...we shall see.
pretty sewing machine cover - right now my little sewing machine lives in her carrying case which has protected her from the move but when she's on display I don't want her to get all dusty so a little cover is in order.
a skirt for my table - Because I really like this pin!
nice curtains for the kitchen - I need some sort of curtain combo that will look good over the sink & on the window of the deck door.  This house has too many doors & too many windows!  Too many windows is a good thing though.
a little ironing board cover - my original sewing desk idea was inspired by this pin.  My sewing desk would do double duty as an ironing board.  But what about ironing & sewing?!?!  This ironing board TV tray can slip behind the table or hide somewhere else or be extra space.  Love it!

Right now bits & pieces of my sewing collection are around the house but slowly they are making it into one place and then slowly getting into the spare room.  I can't wait to have a few little projects going on.  I just can't sit still & it's apparent if I need three work areas!!

Do you sew? What projects do you want to work on?  Are you like me & need a million work areas? Am I just crazy?!

xoxo, Moe

Spring Wishlist

I can't believe Spring is here.  It doesn't really feel like Spring...in fact it's damn cold outside!  I can't wait for warmer weather.  I hate going out in the cold every morning to start my car.  I just want to curl up under the covers & stay there.  It also sucks having to get up around 4:45 each morning to be at work at 7am.  I like to have a little unwinding, relax, wake-up time before work.  I don't like rushing around trying to get ready & running, like a whirlwind, out of the door.  I like to take things slow.

In honor of wishing for warm weather here's my (small) Spring wishlist:

spring wishlist

one - I'm looking forward to a lot of pastels with contrasting accents.  These sleeveless tops have me drooling.

two - Boat shoes & Moccasins are what I live in during the Summer.  Who are we kidding, 9 times out of 10 I choose slip on shoes in any sort of weather.  If only all footwear were that easy.

three - I'm looking forward to a fun collection of sunglasses this Spring & Summer.  I'm loving retro with a pop of color & those neon ones above took my breath away.

four - Can't wait to grab a yummy iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts.  It's my favorite iced coffee & perfect for warm days!

Lately work has been taking a crazy toll on me.  I feel like I can't get anything done!  I'm loving the down time after work - just sitting around on the couch, unwinding from the day.  But I miss my old routine.  I miss creating things.  I miss the time I had.  But I love having a steady paycheck.  When I was looking for work I was afraid I'd get stuck in a job I hated (I'll share more with you on that later) but I'm glad I like my job.  I don't feel like I'm working for the man.  I actually feel that I'm doing something productive, a part of a team, and actually seeing things be done.  Rather than grinding the same gears each day it's fast paced & see what I do unfold.  I'm doing something that has a purpose.  It makes me happy to be earning a living like this.  Am I sad I'm not self employed? yes.  Do I want that in the future? Hell yes!  Am I happy where I'm at now? Oh yeah.

I'm loving this new adventure & I really can't wait to see where it takes me!!  I know this wishlist was small...but really I just want warmer weather! Seriously!

What's on your wishlist for Spring? I'd love to know!

xoxo, Moe
