Trend Tuesday // Radiant Orchid Around My Home

Like I've mentioned many times this month purple is my favorite color so I'm so excited that Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Color of the year.  Hooray for the purples!  I thought I'd collect all the purple things I could find around my house, and there were plenty more that didn't fit in this picture:
Purple handled scissors // Bella Terra Mineral Shimmer in Emotion // Ruby Wing Nail Polish in Zen Garden // Flower Beauty Cream Shadow in Lilac You A Lot! // The Balm Instain Blush in Houndstooth (I swear it's a light purple in person!) // Maybelline ColorSensational Lipsticks in Violet Intrigue (Limited Edition but it's still in some displays at my drug stores) & Brazen Berry (part of their permanent Vivids line) // Eyeko  Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Purple // Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Fashion Diva // Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory // Two Purple Crochet Hooks // Colgate Slim Soft Tooth Brush // iPhone 5S Mophie Case // Candle that's totally dead from Big Lot's // Chip Clip

There's much, more in my house that is purple - my current glasses included.  I love purple! I can't wait for there to be many purple things this year!

What is you're favorite color?  Are you digging Radiant Orchid?

xoxo, Moe

Tempted Tuesday // Style Something Blue

For some reason, I've got the blues lately.  I think it's because a student at work came in with bright blue nail polish!  It looked so great as a pop of color, I've been thinking about it ever since.  Vibrant colors like oranges, reds, & royal blue seem to be paired up for this Spring.  In fact, pantone named these colors, including Sodalite Blue, as the spring 2012 colors.  However, if you don't want to blind your coworkers, friends, fellow shoppers or party goers, I suggest using this royal blue as an accent.

View set info here on Polyvore
Each of these awesome pieces can be used as a Sodalite Blue accent to your spring wardrobe without being overly blinding!

  1. Pair a blue handbag with a weekend date outfit.  Add a few other Pantone colors (like the Tangerine Tango) to add a little complimentary burst.
  2. Go nautical with a Red, Blue, & Striped get up.  The striped top, scarf, & bracelet bring in a bit of French nautical flair.
  3. A geode inspired Sodalite Blue ring goes perfect for that concert on the lawn or day trip to the flea market.  I am digging geodes this spring & this royal blue is perfect.
  4. Another (& more affordable) way to work Sodalite Blue into your weekend wardrobe is as a nail polish.  This pop of color goes great with bold golds & Solar Power yellows.  Keep your shoes, belts, & other accessories, like scarves, deep neutrals.
  5. For the day trip photographer, balance a deep neutral with a soft neutral & add a royal blue watch.  This cool contrast mimics the sea against the ocean if you're headed beach side for a little day-off adventure.
  6. For the sophisticated shopaholic a flowy shirt, sandals, & jeans make the perfect outfit trying clothes.  Easy to slip on & off, these three shopping staples go great with a primary paletter.  Red, Yellow, & Blue keep your palette & style simple.
  7. Finally, you may feel like Kate Middleton in this Sodalite Blue inspired party outfit.  Perfect for a bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, formal picnic, sunday service, or fancy date, this blue dress has a silhouette that suites every shape.  This is my favorite dress shape at the moment!
I love using Polyvore to make up outfits for the seasons.  It's like having a virtual closet.  You can also see what an outfit may look like before you go shopping or use it as inspiration for shopping!

Do you find the Pantone Colors of the Year helpful?  How about that Tangerine Tango?
